Aribert Ferdinand Heim, a Nazi doctor during World War II, lived as Tarek Hussein Farid in the Kasr El-Medina hotel until his death in 1992, Cairo, Egypt, Feb. 6, 2009. Heim earned the nickname Dr. Death for his work in Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen and Mauthausen concentration camps, where he performed medical experiments on prisoners. He was wanted for war crimes and fled Germany for Egypt in 1962.
