About Holly Pickett

Holly Pickett grew up in Butte, Montana and studied journalism and history at the University of Montana in Missoula. She was a staff photographer at the Spokesman-Review newspaper in Spokane, Wash., before moving to Cairo, Egypt, to freelance. Holly has worked in Afghanistan, Libya, Tunisia, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Gaza, Jordan, Yemen and all over Egypt. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, Newsweek, The New Yorker, Paris Match, Stern, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, NPR.org, The (London) Times, The Daily Telegraph, The National, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Elle.
